Ok, I've played an Ovation, one of the one's with the different sound holes in'em. And I liked it. But I really can't try every kinda guitar out there to see what my favorite one is, so I need some help narrowing them down. I'm gonna be playin stuff like, Skynyrd, Zeppelin, Guns N Roses, the new godsmack stuff on acoustic, some green day, and just to practice some electric stuff on to. Like sometimes instead of pluggin my electric in, I'll just pull my acoustic out and start jammin with stuff you'd normaly play on electric. So what kinda guitar's would you suggest? Thanks.

well if you wanna practice electric stuff as well i think playability will be a huge issue. so i think your fruntronner brands are:

Takamine (good bang for buck)
Alvarez (same thing)
Taylor (really nice, probably more than you're willing to pay)

just my thoughts. a martin may be what you're after... who knows? but go try at least one guitar from every brand to get a ballpark estimate of what kind of guitar to expect.

I'm a fan of going to the music store and just buying whatever feels right at the time. But for the kind of stuff you'e talking about, I'd go with a Washburn acoustic. Low action, good all-around sound, and the frets are short so I don't get stuck when I'm trying to rip. Plus they're really inexpensive(I payed $150 for mine, but the neck wasnt bound either... smile.gif )

I've been here since 11/06/01 and I've never been a GTUer of the month. It's 08. I rock.
