I've noticed that I sing a lot better on acoustic-not just the notes, but the inflection and emotion in my voice, and I have a theory: I think it's from feeling the vibration in the body and strings so much more on an acoustic that keeps me in key for one, and more emotionally involved in the song because I literally FEEL it. Does this sound like I'm reading too much into the situation?! Or has anyone else had the same idea? Just curious. smile.gif

I've been here since 11/06/01 and I've never been a GTUer of the month. It's 08. I rock.

I feel the same way. The vibes comin from the ol coustic pulls me into it more than the lectric does. I notice it most when I jam with my friends. I prefer the acoustic even when they're tellin me to whip out the lectric.

So no, I wouldn't say yer weird.

I've never played an electric, so I couldn't tell you, but, yeah, acoustics are better in my expert opinion.

I agree, especially on the inflections. Electrically I sing about the same way (as on acoustic) only if I'm not playing guitar. Just singing or playing harp or something, maybe from the vibes of the band-as-a-whole. Like what you're saying about playing solo on the acoustic. Anyway, it's like that for me too. (It doesn't give me a good voice or anything, but I can sing poorly with more feeling! laugh.gif )

I don't have an electric, just played my friend's, but I feel that 'lectrics are fun just to jam around on. I kinda know what you mean, with my acoustic, I can find the note I'm singing better. Plus, I just like my acoustic better than me friend's electric. wink.gif

i know the feeling, it's like when you're playing acoustic you feel the vibes going through your body, and you can get really into it, whereas with electric you dont have that, the only response is from the amp. makes it seem like your acoustic is just an extension of your body...

I get that too...it's awesome feeling. When I feel in touch with my acoustic, I am in another world for sure. It isn't all the time but when it does happen, I am in seven eleven*

it could get misunderstood, seeing as 7-11 is a chain of convienance stores, and I'm sure when the employees are in a 7-11, they aren't in 7-11. Just a thought.

That is true...never thought about that, but if you were in seven-eleven, would your seven-eleven look like my seven-eleven? unsure.gif
