Eden 410 XLT Bass Cabinet

Review by Ericman197

How much did you purchase this item for? $1017 for 2
Where did you purchase this item? A guy on Talkbass.com
Is this item new or used? Used

Features: It's pretty simple. It has the standard input/output jacks, and a volume knob for the tweeter. Everything works well.

Construction: These are some pretty tough cabs. They show little sign of abuse, despite what they've been through. There's only one problem... these are HEAVY cabs. Too heavy for me, so I'm getting rid of them.

Sound: The Eden cabs have a signature sound. The lows are tight and defined down to the E. When I pump a lot of wattage into an individual cab, it'll fart out on the B... but that's only at wattages well over it's limit. They're extremely loud and efficient cabs; they have a signature low mid bump and a clanky ( but pleasing ) treble response from the tweeter. These are very colored sounding cabs, but not in a bad way... I can dig the sound.

Ease of Use: It's a cab. It's pretty simple.

Reliability: Very reliable.

Overall: It's a perfect 4x10"... only problem is that it's too heavy for me. I'm going with lightweight cabs from here on out.

How much did you purchase this item for? Approx AU$2,800
Where did you purchase this item?
Intermusic, Bondi Junction
Is this item new or used? Brand spanking new

Features: This is a 700 watt into 8Ω cabinet, 4 x 10 inch cast frame speakers, an E-2700 cast bell tweeter, recessed handles on the sides of the cabinet, castors for easy manouverability, jack inputs as well as banana plug inputs. The cabinet also sports dual porting (above and below the speakers). There is also an attuenuator for the tweeter.

Construction: Extremely strong construction. The cab is very solid with no rattles and feels bullet proof. Weighing in at 44.5kg (98lbs) you'll be gald for the castors! I can get the cab up flights of stairs fairly comfortably as it is well balanced and the recessed handles are in just the right spot. The speakers are protected by a tough black metal grill, while the cabinet is covered with a strong black "carpet".

Sound: The Eden 4 x 10 XLT provides the bassist with a strong, confident, and extremely well projected sound. Dialing in the right level of tweeter is something of a challenge because the tweeter can dominate the sound with a metalic bell-like clank if overused. This can be good for percussive purposes however. It's important to be aware of the cabinet's ability to really project - your sound tech may ask you to turn down or to face your cab across the stage. This cab compliments the Eden World Tour amp wonderfully. I've also used an Eden cab with a Fender Bassman 400 and it sounded fine. This cab will provide you with a tight sound down to low B, but you do need to ensure that you take care when getting down that low - mind your eq.

Ease of Use: No problems. Easy to transport and relatively compact for a dual ported cabinet.

Reliability: Professional standard equipment - very reliable.

Experience Level: 18 years gigging/ recording experience.
