So yesterday me and a friend were out and about at the mall and we decided to stop by the local guitar shop and play some nice acoustics...

Well we were in there about 5-10 minutes and I picked up a Martin my buddy just got done playing on. It was awesome, best looking guitar I have ever seen. Well I was playing about 5 minutes before someone noticed and then of course he came over to hassle me, being young looking, and playing a good guitar.

Well after he finally let us alone we looked at the price of the martin, looked like it was 700 bucks. But they we looked closer, yea it was 4700, the 4 was almost rubbed away. laugh.gif

What made me feel dumb though was when I said "Yea, I just graduated college...thinking once I get a real job, might get me a new guitar"...lol

Yea, I'm sure when I get a nice job I'll be willing to drop 1/5th of my salary on a Martin wink.gif

It played very very very good, but not $5,000 good.

i went to guitar center on vacation once and i was with my dad (this might have helped) and i went into the acoustic room and picked up a nice looking taylor and i look at the 3000 dollar price and was like..."nice taste".

but the clerk was like..."dude...try anything you want man..." (in the typical burn out guitar center employee voice)

I also got to play the Eric Clapton signature guitar....that was a nice one too.

Ahh....good times at guitar center.

1920's 00-21 Martin ($12,000). Also, 1930's 000-28 Martin (near $20,000 if I remember correctly). Also a few others through the years that I pretended to be interested in buying.

Martin Eric Clapton sig', about €4,700 list price in Ireland, didn't do anything for me. A €3,000 lowden something or other, pure beautiful. Not really a guitar I could never afford, just obviously not at the moment. Some day.

Of course...in time I will have that kind of guitar.

First guitar was 275-300

Second will be 500-750

Third will be 750-1000

Anything past that it would ahve to be an awesome guitar, like an old Martin/Gibson, but I doubt I would pay more than a grand for a new guitar.

Mmmmm...I've played a fair few nice ones in my time.

There's a nice SRV Sig Strat that I go in and play every few weekends, they haven't cought on that i'm never gonna buy it rolleyes.gif

But there is a more interesting tale...I went into my local store about a year ago, I was checking out some acoustics. They had a room full of them, so I started playing a few. After a while I had moved around the room and played most of the guitars, but I spotted a classical guitar in the corner of the room, looking neglected and unimportant.

So I picked it up and started playing...my GOD it was beautiful. Such an amazing sound, like nothing I have ever heard before. It was so fantastic to play as well, it was as though the guitar was playing me, in fact.

I was pretty much sold on this guitar, but it didnt have a price tag or anything, so I asked the owner (who is a family friend) about the guitar. He said "Sh!t!!! I had no idea this was out here, I dont usually let anyone play it unless they specifically ask for it."

"Oh ok," I said, "How much is it then?"

"$15,000"

blink.gif

Turns out it was made from a very rare type of wood found only in the Amazon Rainforest, and was also hand-made by a master craftsman of some sort in Spain biggrin.gif

I never thought I'd say this about a guitar, but if I had the money, I'd pay $20,000 for it. I just cant describe how incredible this thing was!

I was i a guitar store oce with my ucle and he played Mother Maybelles Martin.( The only reason he got 2 was cuz he knows one of the guys working there)

Anyway, it was $575,000 i think.

They took him in to a private room and made him remove all metal/ hard objects he had in his pockets laugh.gif

I didn't play it needless to say...

LoL

That would be the thing if I didn't have a job to occupy my time...keeping me out of trouble.

I swear if I could play on the street corner and make enough money to pay my bills...I would in a second.

a fender acoutic guitar, it was only 240$ used canadien dollar, i just could not let go of that guitar man, it was like magic dragon living inside the neck and a mystic cloud was captured in the body, it was seriously the most awesome acoustic guitar i've ever played in my life, it had single cut way, i was so ######ing stupid not to remember that model's name or where it was put on the music store, but i still dream about that magical sound, it was like a magical trip you know? sitting there bending and sliding, and picking you know all that man. and i was not high..

oh and i could not afford a parker fly, it was damn good neck and good sound, 5000$...i would have to work fours years full time..

i can afford under a 1000$ if it was monthly payment, anyone could, if they won't go out and drink or spend cash on women.
