Plenty. Electric pedals are used with acoustics, such as reverbs etc. A lot of rack units work very will with acoustic guitar, as does a standard chorus pedal ETC, allthough personally I prefer a clean acoustic tone, maybe with a small bit of reverb, nothing more.

There are also pedals which make your electric sound like an acoustic, such as the Boss AC2 (I wasn't impressed, only works well with single coil's).

Pedals are just effects to make the guitar sound different...I myself like how a clean, well played acoustic sounds like, but some people like to experiment with how things sound...some people use distortion on the acoustic, but I have yet to find a use for it. I do think reverb, and maybe also delay could be used well, but a lot of pedals would be sort of wasted...phaser(sp?)...for whatever reason my acoustic has a phaser(sp?) button on it, and it made everything sound like poo!

That was probably an in/out of phase switch, used for stereo amplification.
