Cheap acoustics

I'm going to get a guitar for my sister, who lives alone in the inner-city. She has expressed interest many times in learning how to play, and has learned the open chords pretty well, but, she doesn't have a guitar of her own, and well... I want to get her one. However, I'm not about to go and spend 300 bucks (yes, even THAT is out of my price range) on it, and well, I found a couple for 50 bucks that looked ok, but, I know they're going to be horrible, however, I would like to know what are my options, and, if I can get a classical for that price
Keep in mind I don't want a 3/4 or a 1/2 size. They're out there, I know they are.

well here on guam they sell these pretty cheap yamaha acoustics that go for about 100. they are basically the best beginner guitars that you could buy here and everyone has them. at my high school they are guitars that everyone has cause they are so inexpensive. i personally dont care for them and would rather get a better guitar even though it would be a higher price, but i think they are a great guitar for just a hundred. idk how much they cost where you are but yamaha is a pretty good acoustic guitar.

I haven't seen the links that ConfuciousDragon posted, but go to MusiciansFriend and look for a Washburn brand guitar for like a hundred bucks. I haven't personally tried those but I heard they were pretty good. If you go to a guitarCenter near you, they have some 200 dollar Ibanez's or Yamaha's that should be pretty good for a beginner.

yup, I went to Guitar Center, they didn't have something in the price range I was hoping. So, I just went back to what I originally was going with.
But yeah, I'm thinking of getting her the cutaway rogue one, and then saying it counts as birthday and christmas gifts.

What no one else has said it?
Get the Esteban gift of music...lol
Actually for someone just starting out...it has DVD's and some instruction...which for someone who lives a lone in the inner city...she prolly wont run into many guitar players.
Plus it is only 150 bucks and it has a amp with the overly popular "overdrive" button...lmao
It would be nice if you found a used one at a garage sale that wasn't too bad..

Get a cheap classical. Even for the price they're pretty solid and will last for many long years. Other than that, get whatever sounds good.

Yeah, "We've modeled this guitar after this other guitar which costs $5,800. It sounds almost exactly the same, and our guitar has an electrical output jack, there's doesn't"
I did think about getting it for her actually, but, then realized... Why the ###### am I listening to an infomercial.
