Hey, I have just started to play the acoustic guitar. I have played it loads the past week, just learning chords. But now i need songs to further help me practice chord changing.

The chords I know are Em, C, G, D, Am, A, E, B, F, A7, E7, D7, C7

Please post any songs you recommend for me as a beginner.

Cheers,

Phil

Do we have a style? There's a good lot of chords there so thee's probably a lot you can do with them.

However, example = Hotel Yorba by White Stripes. G/// C/// D/// G/// throughout. (sometimes substituting final G/// with GCCG or GCDG)

As mentioned, Green Day - Good Riddance is slow and pretty simple, as well as being a stock answer to this sort of things.

Eh... Animals, House of the Rising Sun, you're bound to know it. It's pretty slow, uses the chords you know, and you can either pick or strum it depending on preference.

Am/// C/// D/// F////
Am/// C/// E/// E////
Am/// C/// D/// F///
Am/// E/// Am/// Am///

I think.

Mm, do American Pie. I saw Don Mclean on Saturday, that was the only song that was anything more than tolerable... but it was really good.

An acoustic version of "Hey Joe" can be done using only the simple chords C-G-D-A-E.

uh

Hurt - Johnny Cash
Let Her Cry - Hootie
Run Around - Blues Traveler
3 AM - Matchbox 20
Breakfast at Tiffany's - Deep Blue Something
Mr. Jones - Counting Crows
The Dance - Garth Brooks
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynard Skynard
Hotel California - Eagles ( and for that matter, just about every Eagles song out there)

The rest, well, just think of songs you like, go look them up on GTU, and if they use those chords, then you can learn them.

I'd recommend, however, to keep learning more difficult chords, like barre chords, which are not that hard, and learn songs that require more than just those chords.
