I'm looking to buy an acoustic soon and was wondering what some of your reccomendations would be. I've been playing electric for 2 yrs now and am wanting to get into acoustic. I'm after something thats nice and easy to play and comfortable to hold. My budget range is about 500-700 USD (possibly more :S) I've heard taylors are nice and easy to play but I really have no idea what model would be good for me. Also, it would be really nice to have a pickup in the guitar.
Any advice or comments are greatly appreciated.

Do you want an a electric/acoustic or just the plain?
Cut-away?
Electric/acoustic cut-aways:
Takamine EG523SC
Martin DCX-1E
Martin DCXE-X
Those are my top 3...which I want to get...lol All with in the price range, with room for a hardshell case

I looked at the martins you had there. Id rather pay an extra 100$ and get a D-15. So for about 730$ i think thats a pretty good deal. When i start gettin paid that martin will be mine.
*Also both of those martins i believe only had 14 frets, i want 20.

and electric acoustic guitar has a pickup and a sound board/equilizer/electronics on the side of the guitar. you can plug it into an amp or a sound system. the new taylor system is actually just little knobs you turn and they are located on the side closer to the fretboard and neck.
you can buy pickups that can fit between the guitar's sound hole or ones that are mounted on the front of the guitar. some prices can get into the hundreds though
or you can buy a microphone and play into the mic.

He asked about ones's with a pick-up so I assumed he meant an electric acoustic...the D-15 would be my choice also
Oh and they both had 20 playable frets, 14 "clear" frets...meaning frets before the neck attaches to the body. The other six you would access with the cut-away.* Remember when you get a full body, you won't reayy be playing those frets anyways...unless you play them like you would dail a phone
*Cut away for the guy who asked above, is when there is a notch cut out of the body so you can access the upper frets.
