I mean really it would only be the person who saw the "how do I string my guitar" post first, or maybe the ole fav. "what kind of guitar can I get" as soon as it popped up.
I am/was proud to win the GTU'er of the Week and it felt good...if every forum has a award, they all will be dilluted with posts.
I am fine with not having a AGD gtu'er of the week, everyone here does a really good job!

I think most folks here are a bit more mature, and aren't in need of the "special" recognition, but if that's what most want to do, then I spect I'm wrong.....now that doesn't happen often.
If you're going to have a person of the week from the acoustic forum, then I can save you alot of time and trouble....just give it to ole Dad now. Not to be dis-respectable to anyone else, but who is always the man with the answers?
Dadfad.
Just what does the person of the week get out of it anyway....a wall plaque....watch.....movie tickets.....money....T-shirt? I think just knowing that ya helped somebody out is all folks need.
Am I wrong here?

This is a slow forum...nothing is going to make it more exciting, except more questions, and more answers, but there aren't may that are strictly acoustic...and if so dadfad answers them...
Just please don't do a pole...

We all realize that Dadfad is a great help to us all but, IMHO, I think do Goldrush (Sorry, I'm not good with names
Yes, in a way it's childish, but it's also just a way of saying: 'Hey, we appreciate the help/input'. It's those kind of people who make the forum tick. Where you acually get descent answers (No dis-respect to the other forums: But alot of cr@p gets written in there sometimes...)
And I will sponsor a week in a private game lodge over here for anyone of you old guys winning. They just have to get here

Seriously, Troy, you will only hear about our country when a tourist gets shot, mugged or whatever. But it's not as bad as the press make it sound. As with a lot of countries, there are places where you just shouldn't go...
But then you can work at places with views like this....

No offense taken, Lian. You're right about that. (The only good thing about my job is that the hours are so long I rarely have to contend with rush hour traffic!
(And someday I hope to be able to take you up on that offer!)

DADFAD: a class act all the way. As a person he is one of a kind, and as a human he is one of the kindest. [Goldrush wipes away a tear and continues drinking....
J/K about the tear and drinking part. Seriously, we are extremely fortunate to have DADFAD as a resource here at GTU. His vast musical experience and expertise are a continual source of instruction and inspiration. His wit and humility further compliment his charm and personality. His knowledge of music history is extensive and, these days, quite rare. Oh, what the heck, DADFAD will you marry me?

Just be careful when your flying over Jo'burg. With the war going on, there's a slight chance that the plane might get shot down....
(Sorry, I just couldn't resist
