Hey guys! I'm fixin to put some strings on my Martin. What kinds should I put on there? I play alot of rythm(sp?) and I am getting into the Zeppelin type of scoustic. So what do you guys reccomend?

Depends on what brands you like.

I have started going with D'Addario Bluegrass gauge...they have a very boomy sound with the oversized wound strings. If you want a more twangy type of sound, then i would suggest something in a light guage.

Elixur's make some good strings that ahve good coating on them, but they also cost a lot more too.

Martin has their own brand of strings and their blue grass gauge is very comparable to the D'Addario's.

There is a fine line between insanity and genius and I think i crossed it...but what side I am on is still unclear.

Can't go wrong with D'addario or Dean Markley.

But there's a more important question than the brand name: material.

Bronze strings - worm with boosted lows.

Steel - bright and clear sound.

I typically recommend D'Addario EXP's Phosphor Bronze, lights or mediums. But I wanna try their bluegrass gauge, and GHS and Martin are all good strings soooo...in truth I don't have a good answer except for the D'Addario EXP's.

My I have tried D' Adarrios and elixers. I think i'll try something a little different. My uncle suggested Santa Cruz Tony Rices...i dunno my uncle has an array of them at his house. I'll just have to see what he's got. He gets 'em for free and he has like 18 diff. kinds!

Likewise, the Martin Bluegrass are the only strings i would ever buy

Well, just got some strings on. I took some of your suggestions and put on the D'Addario EXP Phosphur Bronze. They sound really good. Just thought i'd let you guys know. Thanks for your help.
