I recently bought the EG334SBC model and it sounds great. I went to the guitar center and played the model you are picturing and I love it. Takamines are great guitars and the electric-acoustic models are really top notch. The only way to find out if you like it would obviously be to go to your nearest guitar store and try it out. Takamines have great tone and sound great plug or unplugged.

I'm quite sure i played that exact model a few weeks back. It plays extremely well i thought and looks quite nice. I didn't have a chance to plug it in, but i thought the sound when un-plugged was a little bit lacking. Overall, very nice for the price i thought.

The guitar you've shown is good. I've tried it out, what's throwing me off is the jumbo body, though. I'm not so fond of them.

I own this guitar:

It's the Takamine EG540SC. Give it a shot, it's a good and very versatile instrument.

My girlfriend is in love with that Takamine Jumbo, but she wants it in a twelve string. This guy at our church has one and she plays it whenever he brings it around. It seems pretty good, sounds good plugged in too. Takamine always provides good pickups and preamps, unlike my classical's Fishman Classic 4! DAMN YOU FISHMAN CLASSIC 4 AND YOUR SUPER MIDS BUT NO TREBLE THAT NO MATTER WHAT I DO WITH THE EQ I CAN'T HEAR THE HIGH STRING *deep breath* DAMN YOU!

I was looking at taylors and martins in the 1000-1500$ range and decided my takamine was just as good. Great sound and playability.

I gig with one of these puppies:

Tak EF

The lead guitar in the band is playing a bit of a bigger body, not as round an arse as yours mentioned, but I would think the one you are looking at would have a nice full sound as well.

I would def. go for it, if you can play it before you buy.

I am a big fan of Takamine. I have two and love them both. I have the eg540c which is the limited edition special series and a eg523sc-12 which the the g series 12 string. Both sound and look beautiful. Any Takamine models are great. I would try it out before you buy it to make sure its a fit, but when you pick the right takamine up you will have a blast.

I definitely agree! I picked up my Taylor on accident kinda, I went to the guitar center to see if they had the EG-523SC so I could check it out but they ended up not having one so I messed around and fell in love with the Taylor 314. I traded in my EG-334SBC for the Taylor but i do miss it alot. It was a great guitar and I only got it for $399 instead of $599 or whatever they have it listed for. I was contemplating on buying it back but I don't have the money to and when I do I am gonna pay my credit card off then save money to get both the EG334SBC back and get the EG523SC. I love Takamine!
