Hey gang...........I was in a car accident 2 weeks ago. A deer came through my windshield. I am OK...no new pains except the back of my neck. I have arthritis really bad so I am in pain 24X7. Anyway, I tried playing a few days ago and WOW the pain really was bad. My doctors tell me the pain MAY go away but I hate the idea of not being able to play for longer than one or two minutes. sad.gif

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that. I am glad you are ok and hope that the pain will go away and that its only temporary. All I can say is keep a positive attitude, I'll pray for you that you get better.

Geeze, Stu, I feel terrible for you. I know that arthritis has been messing with you awhile already too. Hopefully that pain will go away or they can get it under control. It would be hard giving up playing completely. You'll be in my prayers.

(A word of inspiration maybe..... I met an old guy in Kentucky. He was a picker and he'd lost both hands in a farming accident but couldn't bear the thought of not playing guitar anymore. He concocted an old table with a steel-bar sticking straight up out of it. He'd hold a pick in one hand... er.... hook, and cradle the guitar-neck in his other arm and played slide. And he was actually pretty good! I give him a lot of credit.) (Notice I didn't say "I've got to hand it to him! laugh.gif )

Just trying to cheer you up a little! But I'll be thinking of you, Stu.

Sorry about your accident, and hope you can continue to play the guitar.

Got a question about that deer, did you at least get a good loin or hindquarter out of it?

that bites major ass dude. I know someone here on GTU was in a bad car wreck about a year ago or something and he was banged up really bad. I dont remember who it was now. im sure you will be able to play guitar once you have fully recovered from the accident. I have minor arthritis in my hands yet I still continue to play music because i love it so much. im sure the time will come when you will pick up your guitar and start to play again

I was so scared that i wouldnt be able to play anymore and I havent been playing that long.
there is a funny thing about arthritis if you keep playing a little it might get better my mam has had it bad for years, but keeps sewing and knitting and quilting and it dosnt get any worse.
Hope its the same for you.

I was nearly in an accident last night. I was riding with my uncle and he hit two opussums(sp blink.gif ) at the same time! It was close. But, that really bites man. I broke a couple of fingers a while back and couldn't play for a while. It' awful.
To Stu's speedy recovery!
