Actually, I'd tend to disagree. It's a great song, but it could have been so much more.

have you ever heard of beauty in simplicity? like eMOTIVe, the new perfect circle album? far too simple for a perfect cirlce, nonetheless, beautiful in every way.
also, i believe i said no debates? hmmmm?

It is an excellent song, but to be really appreciated I reckon the whole Wish You Were Here album has to be played through; you really get the atmosphere then
Coincidence; I'm listening to Welcome to the Machine right now

But it's not simple, it's got a load of strange synth thrown here and there in the song. Also, it's repetitive and goes on for too long. It's a good song, but nowhere near the best ever, and like I said it could have been so much more.

I'd tend to agree, to truely appreciate Pink floyd you have to listen to an album the whole way through, each album seems to tell a crazy mixed up story, and the songs blend in togeather so well, something I think that few bands ever seem to even try to achieve now days.

Acoustic guitar- since when it's a style?
Sorry, but for people who live acoustic music, the statement about Wish You Were Here is simply unacceptable.
But sure, I agree it's a great song.

Anyone ever heard the Fred Durst (Limb Bizcut) and John Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls) cover of this song, I believe it's on the concert for New York Tribute CD but It's pretty good. Sort of a strange combination however, Durst and Rzeznik.
I haven't, but really want to, having been a huge fan of Goo Goo Dolls for a long time

The 1st commandment that DadFad brought down from the mountain was
"Thou shalt not speak of the Durst" no one's broken that sacred commandment until now. And things were going so well...
