Hey guys, first time posting here, seems like a good site so I joined. I'm NEW at guitar, I picked it up about a month ago and I love it. I have an Epiphone AJ-100 (not that bad actually) and with it came Ernie Ball strings.
I won't get into the specifics of the strings, but I saw on the pack that they are 'bronze' at the time didn't think to much about it, but then later on I noticed that other strings had other metals (i.e. copper) so my question to you guys is what difference is there in say bronze strings to copper? Is there a difference in the life of the strings, different sound?
Well thats pretty much it, but anyways thanks in advance.

Alright let me re-word my question, its mostly has to do with the strings, what they're made of and how they perform. Now since I haven't been playing guitar that long I haven't had the opportunity to test out the myriad of strings there are out there, also I'm not asking you guys to give me the best 'strings' I'm sure a lot has to do with styles.
What is the difference between the sound, life, etc of strings that are made up different metals. I'm assuming that strings are mostly alloys, and nothing pure...as most things are.
The strings I have are 80/20 bronze, 80 percent bronze, 20% nickel, I just realized this right now that I looked at the package.
