i'm looking for oldies songs like every rose has its thorn-pioson to play on my guitar.. i've had my guitar for a year now and i haven't learned many chords so i am limited to what i know how to play. i like old songs from the 80's that sound good on acoustic like classic rock and country things that are simple for people like me.. the chords i know are..... G,C,D,AM,E,EM,CADD9,A.... i think that is all... anyways i would apreciate it if you all had any ideas..thankz

if its more chords you need, when you browse artists here, off the the very right you'll see something that says, online chord reference or something like that. click on that and it should take you to the easy chord room, where all you have to do is click on which chord you want to know, and it will tell you how to play them and where to play them at.

as for songs..."wild thing" is easy. the original "behind blue eyes" by the who is a good one. try these from guns n' roses, "sweet child o mine" and "november rain".

"i don't wanna miss a thing" by aerosmith is a good one. "hotel california" by the eagles is a great song. but its a bit complicated. but once you find the chords you need, give it a shot.

i noticed you have a wal-mart guitar too. you have 3/4 size one don't you?

i'm curious as to how it plays. i have a first act one myself, its a full size one.

Oldie? You're making me feel old and I'm only 23 laugh.gif I grew up with that song. I'm sure it only gets worse laugh.gif

As far as songs go...

"All I can do is write about it" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's a dead easy song. The strum pattern is very simple. The best thing is...the recordings all just acoustic guitar, so you can pick up the strum pattern very very easily. I rated the one tab on here a 10. So check that out.

Looks like you have a good start with the chords. Maybe try learning the Dminor chord and by now you should be able to tackle the F chord like this...low to high X03211..it may take a few tries to not mute the high e. But you'll get it fine.

its not the guitar, its the person playing it. i learned on a guitar with the bridge falling off. but i could play it ok when i was done with it.

i'm poor and i was desperate for a guitar, so i settled on the wal-mart one. in all reality, its a decent guitar despite what everyone has told me.

oh, try " what i like about you " that's a cool song to do. also, try " magic carpet ride " by steppenwolf. i don't know who does the other.

....and so you can imagine what I was thinking when I saw "oldies"! laugh.gif

Anyway, you mentioned country. A few "classic rock" songs work very well, being pretty "countrified" . Like "Tupelo Honey" by Van Morrison or "No Expectations" by the Stones, etc. For true country tunes, Hank Williams (Senior) has quite a few that are fairly easy to play, with just chords.
