My best friend has a Seagull. It's a very good sounding guitar for the price. I think he payed around £300 for his. No pickup though, so it was a pure acoustic, and you want something that sounds very good for that, and his did. Felt good too. You could do a heck of a lot worse.

spruce tops eh? like the bright sound, don't you?

anyway,, art and lutherie produce really good guitars, as do seagull. if you can't afford the seagull, the art and lutherie is not going to be a guitar you'd rate second to the seagull. both guitar brands are really good, but if you're looking for something specific, it'd be better to check out some others in the range.

I played an A+L guitar in London when I was looking around (Hanks Acoustics on Denmark St. if you're interested) which was a Cedar model, had a wonderful mellow sound. I didn't like the Spruce on so much. I would've bought it if it had been electro-acoustic, but in the end I went with one of them.
i've been trying for hours, just to think of what exactly to say.
i thought i'd leave you with a letter or a fiery speech,
like when an actor makes an exit at the end of a play.
