vinee, forget songs, take it from an Okie that has been down the road a few times, and get yourself a nice woman, maybe one a them girls with the far away eyes. That will keep your mind off home.
(No wonder you got so many guys out there gunnin' for ya, Oke!
(Not to mention all those little Okies runnin' around all over the country asking every guy they see "Are you my daddy?")
(But you're right! ha!

Yes sir, Dad, you and I know what it's all about, and these kids just keep on givin' ole vinee songs.
Havin' to look over your back now and then is a small price to pay.

We're happy, the young ladies are happy (at least until they wake up next mornin' anyway) and the gene-pool gets a boost. I don't see a down-side to it either, Oke!

Been there & done it. Oke. I totally agree with that statement but sometimes need the guitar to get your foot in the door, so to speak
The clock of life is wound but once
And no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop at late or early hour
Now is the only time you own
Live, love, toil with a will
Place no faith in time
For the clock may soon be still

BaasLian, I must say that I've only been playing guitar for a couple of years now, and it ain't got anything in any doors for me. Keep in mind that you will become invisible to most young ladies when you get to my age.....thank goodness for memories, and mammaries, and all the rest.
I started my womanizing ways in my early teen years, way back in the 60's, and all it took was my charm, wit, and an occasional joint.

I'll just leave that alone!
Yep, old Okie remembers the days before AIDs and Herpes and birth-control pills had just been invented and young ladies were falling all over themselves to prove just HOW sexually liberated they'd become. Yessir, six thousand years of pent-up sexual denial and frustrations just bustin' loose! Yaz yaz yaz. Kind of a sexual-tsunami! A very good time indeed!
I am (was) (am) such a male chauvinist pig!
(Oink.....)

That's actually quiet a nice song to play when you're homesick - Totally forgot about that one.
To the two Johns: Actually, no, I cant think of anything to say to all those years of "experience"

Damn groupies (bless 'em), ya just didn't know where they'd been!
A little more on the subject.... A beautiful old traditional tune about returning home is "Wayfaring Stranger". Probably the finest version I've ever heard (and I've heard many) was recorded by an acoustic guitarist and dulcimer-player named Claudia Schmidt from her album (I think) "Wings of Wonder".
