At this stage, I doubt you can do it yourself even with explanations. Take it to a shop or have a friend who already plays take a look at it for you. Good luck.

Sounds like it needs a restring and a set-up for starters. As for the fact that 'the knobs are like all loose', it depends on what you mean by 'knobs,' whether you're talking about the six tuning pegs on the headstock or the control pots on the body. If the 'square thing' is the backplate then isn't a problem in itself if it's missing, although the springs need to be a) there, and b ) set up properly.
I reckon that all guitarists should be able to do a restring and a basic set-up on their own guitar, but if you seriously haven't got a clue then I'd definately recommend that you take Dadfad's suggestion and get someone else to look at it so you don't do any more damage to it yourself. If it's got a lot of problems, it's probably going to be a lot easier to do that than have one of us talk you through it. If you don't know anyone who can sort it, you may have to take it into your local guitar store and have to pay someone to look at it...... but I suggest that you ask if you can watch them as they fix it so that you can see what they're doing and learn how to sort things yourself. Best of luck.

They could just be loose because a little flat nut under the knobs is loose (they could be coming apart inside the pot itself but not as likely). Get it re-strung and set up. If you have a friend who plays have him/her do it and show you how. The pot-knobs can come off (some simply pull off, others have a little screw in the side that needs to be loosened.) Then you (or someone else) can see that flat nut that holds the pot to the plastic cover to see if they're loose.

Being a Squier, the control knobs should just lever off with a flathead screwdriver, although if they've not been removed before it could well be a little stiff so work your way around it and loosen it up rather than trying to lever it off in one swift motion. If you do decide to tinker with the control pots, put some masking tape down around them so you don't scuff the pickguard with pliers or screwdriver.

There should be a little thin hex nut under it. If it's loose, tighten it up a bit. That should tighten your pots. As Halfmoon said, be careful pulling them off. Protect the plastic, and work from across side to side a little at a time. If you pull it off crookedly you can loosen the inner-workings of the pot.

Note: Sometimes you can actually see that nut without removing the knobs. Lift the knob (still on the pot) as best you can and use something thin (a butterknife maybe) to turn the nut clockwise if you can. It won't be tight, but it will be tighter than it was.

To be honest, I'm often hesitant to try to explain too much to someone who's very unfamiliar with basic repair and maintanence. I don't want to encourage them to do something which might cause even more problems or damage. So proceed very carefully. Don't use a lot of force on anything. And if possible ask someone for help. Don't feel embarrassed asking someone. Everyone here, no matter how skilled and knowledgeable they might be now, started off just like you. Knowing very little. We all learned from others, as they all did. Good luck. And welcome to GTU.
