I think that I have narrowed my search down to two acoustic amps, maybe 3. But the two are the Behringer ULTRACOUSTIC ACX1000 and the Genz Benz Shenandoah 100. There is though a price difference of approximately $300. So my question is, are you paying for the name when you buy the shenandoah, and if so how much? Is that amp really worth $300 more. I have played my guitar through both and must say I am quite satisfied with both of them. I must say that the Genz Benz has a little bit better sound quality (which is expected), and a little more cool functions, but I don't know if it is worth an additional $300. I wouldn't mind sacrificing a little better sound for $300. What do you all think?

I've played many acoustic gigs through a Behringer, and some through a Genz Benz, and honestly, I wouldn't spend $300 for a few little things, both really sound the same.
You could get the cheaper one to sound decent if you set it up right, because it's not all the equipment you have, by that I mean the quality of equipment, it's the person playing and using it that makes it sound good.
If you will use those extra features, by all means get it, but don't buy it and not use them, because then you will have spent more money than you had to.
The sound quality is really the person playing, I've heard people play through Marshall amps and sound like total crap ( Using guitars like Les Paul Standards and Fender Strats/Teles ) But even with that said, some amps are just better than others.
Whichever one is best for you, I'm only suggesting things.

If you're happy with the sound and features of the lower priced one then it may be the way to go. Of course, I play through a Genz Benz Shenandoah 100, so I'm a little impartial to them. I think they have a great, natural tone and enough power to be heard. The only weakness is their effects (which I hardly use anyway), but I can overlook that. I have to admit I'm unfamiliar with Behringers.
