Features: Mine is a 1992
Basic Setup. Mahogany Body and Neck, Maple top, Dual Humbuckers, 3 way toggle pickup selector and 2 volume and tone knobs.
Construction: Les Pauls in general have very high quality construction. One thing i noticed with mine, is the attention to detail. If you take off the Control Plate in that back, you can see clean cut, routing and laminating. The top is solidly connected to the body as it should be. The only thing i think my les paul was lacking in, who ever did the soldering and the fret work didnt do that great. The soldering was splochy, not the perfect little round balls like they should be. Also the frets need a dressing, but keep in mind i bought this used.
Sound: Les pauls sound wonderful, Thick and meaty,
if you know how to set them up, and play them. These guitar need at least 11-52 guage strings on them to get the best out of them. I notice and less got this awful sound when played aggresivly, almost like a "squelch". Note did sound pure. Now they do.
Also, the stock pickups were great, but i want to try around. I Tried:
PRS Dragon II: Not aggresive in mid range enough for me in the bridge
PRS Tremonti: Holy Shiit, to aggresive and modern for me.
Duncan Pearly Gates: Nice but a little cold
Burstbuckers (what i have in now): Great vintage rock, wish brigde was warmer, less bity
Ease of Use: Simple, like anything else ive ever played
Reliability: Has issues with the jack coming loose, but hay, that is my lazy fault for not putting on LOK-TITE
Overall: Overall i love my les paul, but im going to soup it up to get a lot more out of it.
If you know how do work on guitars, you can really make these things shine.
Experience Level:I dont know, not begginer (after all these years i hope not

), not a expert, id say a ameuter.
It is sorta perception.
