I've tried out the AER and it sounds great but I heard about the Ashdown amp. Someone said it sounded a little better but what really sold him on it was a lower price tag.

Anyone got an Ashdown or an EAR? What do you think?

Ashdown's are nothing special, but they get the job done.

The better one is the one you like better (sounds like Yogi Berra!).

I know AER makes really good amps. I've never played an Ashdown, but I've heard they're good (but maybe a little weak in power if that's a concern for you).
I know AER is German and Ashdown is British if that matters.....reminds me of a joke (DADFAD will like this one):

Heaven is where the waiters are German, the police are English, and the chefs are French. Hell is where the waiters are French, the police are German, and the chefs are English. laugh.gif

I recently bought an AER alpha. It's barely larger than a peavey rage but dear god this thing can pump out the sound! I installed some B-Band 2 pickups and preamp into my seagull acoustic and I can now generate enough sound to fill a large hall and be heard crystal clear with no tone or frequency loss.

It wasn't cheap but it's a beautiful amp! (Tommy Emmanuel uses the AER Delta or something like that).

I have no experience with this other amp you mention but every serious acoustic guitarist needs an AER.
