does anybody out there play the mouth organ or know anybody that does?i wanna know the TRUTH about them...and how much they cost and if they're hard to play or not...

It might be a nickname i'm not entirely sure but i think its sorta like a recorder but you press down keys like on an organ to make different sounds...ive seen a picture of one but i dunno

A mouth organ is the real name for a harmonica. You're thinking of a melodica, I think that's the name. You can play it right up to your mouth or you can use a tube that usually comes with one to play the keyboard like you would an organ, but it only has one manual (keyboard) so it's just a keyboard not really organ like.

I think all harmonicas have 2 reeds one for blowing in and one for sucking out. Maybe you're thinking of a Chromatic harmonica which is huge.

yeah i think its the chromatic harmonica. didn't know it was called that. those things are fatasses man...but they look kinda fun to play...
maybe some harmonicas only have one reed, while others have two. i dunno what would vary it....ah well ill check into that. thanks peachslide.

A chromatic harmonica is just a (usually but not always) larger harmonica with one button on the side to allow you to play chromatically. If you're talking about something with a small keyboard attached, it isn't a harmonica (or mouth-organ). There are several variaties of instruments like that, the melodica being the most common.
