Ive have 2 acoustics, a washburn, and a sort of cheap electric acoutic(takamine)

I need a new acousitc and I really like how my washburn sounds, but the problem is that it is not electric acoutic.............So Im looking pretty soon to buy a new electric acoustic, do you guys have any suggestions to any hollow sounding decent acoutic. Not to expensive
Thanks

Why not amplify your Washburn?

Put a pickup (eg DiMarzio virtual acoustic DP138, nut there are more to choose from) in it and voila... ready. tongue.gif

Cheap and good solution. biggrin.gif

Yes, if you're happy with your guitar otherwise, just add a pick-up system (from less than $50 to over $300+). You can get a decent one for around $75 or so, including a volume-control on it (which is good to have). Like the Shadow SH 2000 (both volune and tone controls) or the Acoustic Tube (volume-only). The Shadow sticks on, the Tube pops into the soundhole. Both are very decent for simple add-on pickups in the lower price-range.

My BBand2 was an awesome set to buy. I got the normal piezzo pickup and another one that sits on the soundboard somewhere (underneath, both of them).

The tone and volume switches are barely visible in the soundhole and the lead plugs into the knobby bit your strap connects to. Now my guitar retains that sexy little naked acoustic look, but can belt out the sound through my AER.

Mind you the lot (pickups and preamp) were around $600AUS.

Go see your local guitar person and ask their opinion. Honestly, I'm tired of repeating that. I think people post questions like this simply because they want to fit in here at GTU.

Isn't this what GTU is about? Asking questions and inviting opinions about things we don't know about guitar/bass/music whatever? If it irritates you bud, don't answer!
Would be a pity though as I've been thinking about an acoustic/electric conversion and found your post helpful.

Yes, there are excellent systems available, but I figured since he was playing a Washburn he didn't really want to spend twice the value of his guitar for add-on electronics. That's why I mentioned a couple of pretty moderately-priced add-ons. Reasonable sound quality on a budget.
