has anyone tried deans markley strings? are they good?

Yes. I like Dean Markley PhosBronze. Nice sounding and a bit more durable than addarios. A bit more expensive too.

I used them on my 6 string and found I had to fit with them to get any sound out of them. I went back to silk and steel.

I like 'em, but their much like D'Adderio's but with a bigger price tag so I stick with the DAs.

I use the Markley Blue Steels. They have the tone of a much heavier string, and last a long time before going dead. They don't "squeak" as much either.

If i wanted to use my electro acoustic plugged in do i need to use electric strings or will the ernie ball strings that I use for unplugged work ok.
As I have only used it plugged in two or three times i wasnt sure.

Most electro-acoustics use Piezo pick-ups, so either set should be fine.

I wasnt sure, saw a thread the other day and it put the idea in my mind.
so either would do then.

You my try electic strings and see if you like.

But if it's an electroacoustic it doesn't matter, it'll be alright with regular acoustic strings, since the guitar haz a piezo pup that takes uo the top vibrations, and not magnetick pickups, hence no need for nickel strings.
