While not entirely acoustic...Over the Hills and Far Away, and that old standard, (Stairway) have some acoustic parts that are worth messin with.

Hats off To Roy Harper is a electric song where have you been? Stairway to Heaven is not frickin acoustic, just cause it sounds like it in the intro doesnt mean it is. You can go as fricking Jimmy Page and he will tell you that it isnt acoustic. Its a bloody Telecaster run into a amp and you can make it sound like a acoustic ya know. Four Sticks was originally electric but Page has done renditions of it on acoustic which sound rather bad actually. White Summer and Black Mountain Side for christ sakes ARE ELECTRIC. You people dont know fvck all about Zeppelin at all.

Acoustic songs

Bron Yr Aur (Page acoustic Solo)
Bron Yr Aur Stomp (full band)
Thank You
Thats The Way
Over The Hills and Far Away Intro
Tangerine (12 string guitar but designed for pedal steel as solo and guitar sort of melody)
Goin To California
Ramble On
Gallows Pole
I Got a Woman (Hey Hey What Can I Do)
Black Country Woman
The Battle of Evermore
Friends is a acoustic tune
The Rain Song has a acoustic part to it but it isnt the lead guitar part.

laugh.gif sorry im just pointing out the major errors in peoples posts like that. no one is really a dumbass, just they obviously havent actually listened to the music fully to understand. Listen to the live stuff off their latest DVD, the double disc set that came out with How The West Was Won, a lot of the tunes that were mentioned in the original post are electric tunes.

You are right, however it is far from obvious that he's playing an electric on some of those tunes like Black Mountain Side, what with the way he had that Danelectro set up and recorded.

Yeah, I stole it.

there was a thing on the radio about a month ago that played all of led zeppelin's acoustic songs and white summer was played. I know on the DVD he plays it on an electric but i know he has recorded an acoustic version.

quite possibly but thats not really the way he wrote it originally. Mind I have seen a really poor quality bootleg of Page playing Black Mountain Side on a Gibson acoustic, cant re download it again though and it got deleted a while back. The Danelectro can sound like a acoustic cause of the pickups that were in it, 2 single coil lipstick tube pickups. Kind of a jangly acoustic/electric combo sound it can give off. I can see why people think Babe im Gonna Leave you is a acoustic song as it sounds like a acoustic tune but, I may be wrong on this, he recorded it on a Les Paul I think. It could have been the amp he was using that changed the sound of it.

Not to start an argument or cause a fuss, but I really think that 'Babe I'm gonna leave you' was done on an acoustic.

I can't remember which cd I listened to. But it almost definately sounded like an acoustic. I can't see a Les Paul creating a sound like that.

But at the end of the day, who cares? If it's played on an acoustic it will sound just fine...

The clock of life is wound but once
And no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop at late or early hour
Now is the only time you own
Live, love, toil with a will
Place no faith in time
For the clock may soon be still
