I just bought an Alvarez MC-90 classical. It has a solid western cedar top and solid indian rosewood back and sides. The shop didn't carry one and the only other classical maker that they carry was Rodriguez, which was too expensive for an all solid wood guitar. I was supposed to get it last week, but they sent the MC-90C, which is the cutaway acoustic electric version. It was pretty awesome, very warm, with good volume and clarity. Pickup was great, but unfortunately, its not what I ordered, and it cost several hundred dollars more and I told the shop. They thanked me and sent it back and I am awaiting the arrival of my classical. It only cost 600 and I'm hoping the pure classical will sound even better than its acoustic electric sibling (which did sound great) as it won't have a cutaway or electronics. Any owners of this model, or Alvarez fans who might be able to give me some opinions? Thanks

I don't have a lot of experience with Alvarez, however my son bought me a new one (an ADJ-60) for Fathers Day a few years ago (shortly after getting his first "real job" and he wanted to get me something more than the usual cologne or CD) (or hand-print cast in plaster!). It's a very well-built guitar, beautiful looking (natural blonde with nice decoration) and I was surprised at how good it felt and how good it sounded. That's my "Alvarez experience," beyond a couple of others I played in shops for a few minutes, which also seemed of pretty good quality.

I bought one a few years ago when I started playing. And still play it all the time and love it. Its a great guitar, its held up amazingly well, for the price. It was no more that 250 and its still rockin hard. In short, my experiences with Alvarez's have been great, theyre built well and will last.

A freind of mine at work has one that he saved from the junk pile by repairing the neck and a crack in the body and although she is scarred, that damn guitar plays very, very well! So well that I am considering an acoustic/electric by them! I have no idea waht the model number was of my friends' but it just plays great. You won't be disappointed!
