Welcome everyone To the Band Classifieds Forum !

1 - It's purpose:

The main purpose of this forum will be to serve as a real classifieds forum for musicians requesting band mates, the very same ads you read in the medias.

The only difference here, is it's free and digital and you'll get a fair knowledge of those who will reply to your queries you can view their profile and read their posts.

We hope it's gonna be a great help for those who try to contact other musicians who live in the same area (and you are many) but do not know each other.

As we are on the internet, you're welcome to seek online collaborations and even start your own online bands

2 - How to use the board

This forum is divided in four sections, (1 to 4) so if page one is filled with type 1 ads (wanted) and you'd like to check type 2,3, or 4 (offer - online collaboration - other) so please look on each page to make sure you see all recent types of ads updates.

This is not a discussion area, so no spam.

those topics will be moved or deleted. The rules are the same rules than in any GTU forum.

You are welcome to use these boards only if you are serious in your requests.

Above the topic list you'll see it's written: Band Classifieds Notes and below that you'll read:

1. "When you click the "New Topic" button, you will be taken to a page designed to help you post a classified ad"

2. "As opposed to the other forums here, the listings are not sorted by date.
They are instead ordered numerically. Numbers 1 - 4 are associated with each type of ad.

Please look on each page to make sure you see all recent updates.

Below that is the "New Topic" link that'll lead you to a form to fill, so fill the form by replying to the three questions and by selecting one of the four options:

1 - Wanted, 2 - Offer, 3 - Online Collabs, 4 - Other. Just type the informations needed and proceed...

Next step is where you type and post your ad. Simple as that. Don't forget to actually type your ad!

Be precise in your demand and offer don't type a band name if you don't have one

Be also precise about your location, exemple: Country State (or region) and City (a telephone number will do too)

Don't worry if people don't reply to you at once, just give them time to spot your ad!

Don't post classifieds just for the sake of posting, always check your replies

In other words, use the boards like they should: it's about classified ads for musicians

If ever you realize that you have chosen the wrong option for your ad like posting an 'offer' instead of a 'wanted' or 'online collab' you can change your topic title by editing your post/topic (lower right)

3 - Online Collaborations ads

For those who want to record and mix demos with online mates

(and share infos and tips on how to record with computers).

(Online bands can be created before you start real ones and have real gigs)

All you have to do is select the "Online Collabs" option

(be sure to be very clear in your demands).

It's the same system than the "real world bands" regarding the soundclick demos;

If someone's interested to hear your music, post a link (or PM them)

But don't make classifieds like "hey seek online collabs, check my soundclick" biggrin.gif

4 - Other

It's an option that shouldnt be abused because it's purpose is for band related stuff

This option is meant for various purposes: wannabe bands who need tips from active bands because they havent got a clue what it's like to be in a band

Other is also meant to help active bands with problems like rehearsal locations, jam sessions, gigs (how and where to organize them) advices on equipment (P.A) ect ...

You can also use option 4 for self prom like introducing your band to other bands.

5 - What not to do

The ads/topic you post are sorted out by numbers:
    1 - Wanted
    2 - Offer
    3 - Online Collabs
    4 - Other
Never erase those numbers and type of ads because it would spread confusion and i'd consider it as spam the offenders may lose their posting privileges. You are warned

Again, do NOT use those boards as an off topic forum (please go to discussion for that)

Do not spam this forum with useless junk, stay on topic, and post a classified if you really need one, reply to those that concern you.

The 'spam-ads':

This forum has been designed to be helpful for musicians in need of band mates: so please, don't spoil It by posting links advertizing your websites and/or forums. Those ads are spam and therefore shall be deleted !

But you can post if you've got things to say that would be helpful and would benefit a particular topic

And you still can post ads if you seek online collabs or if you have different (band related) questions or requests, you can post them by selecting the "OTHER" option

Don't bother anyone, and if someone bothers you, report the post, and we'll deal with it

(If we could respect those simple rules the forum should work and be very helpful)

Urgent Ads

I've posted and pinned a new topic with links to ads I deem more urgent. Check It out Here

Last Note: Please, don't forget to actually type your ads before posting them after you wrote the topic title and selected one of the four options. Thanks

(May many bands get started from here wink.gif biggrin.gif)

Good luck everyone, as today is friday the 13th so let's get started

(don't forget that we need your cooperation to make things work smoothly)

I'll keep that thread open, so you can vent your musings right here, yo ...

As I asked in the previous pinned topic, and was never answered, What is I wanted to advertise a gig for my band, like if I wanted to say: my band is playing at the token lounge in westland, michigan at 8:45 on june 5th wink.gif would i be adble to?

I think it would be a good idea, and help us get more actual use out of this forum.

He was tryin' to help by giving you the correct reply.

This board is for bands lookin for bandmates. If everyone advertised their gigs the forum would turn into a mess would lose its purpose and would have to be renamed.

Dorio - I reckon instead of moving inappropriate topics you should just delete them. They just clutter up the board.

Doing a great job here my friend! smile.gif

Those 2 "bandness" topics, are some kind of glitch, and i can't delete them either!

From now on I'll close or delete: moving always backfires and it's a loss of space

Thanks for the compliment Paulie smile.gif

Mm wouldn't that be chaos? huh.gif

The forum works because ads are sorted by types how would you tell an Offer from a Wanted if they were sorted by dates? It would take users alot of time..... It would be confusion I reckon...
