Hi Guys..

I'm fairly new to guitar (last 6 months) and am looking for some songs that are love-oriented without being over the top.

Songs you could sing to a close friend, someone you miss, someone you care a lot about, like an ex-girlfriend rolleyes.gif stuff like that.. Something sweet thats not too "in love", but still very caring and romantic...

Stuff like Howie Day's "Collide", and "Best I Ever Had" and the types of things I'm looking for..

If anyone could help me out with this or just have some simple song suggestions that would be great!!!!

James Taylor's "You've Got A Friend." "Gentle On My Mind" written by John Hartford (performed by John, Kris Kristopherson, Glen Campbell and others). "In My Life" by the Beatles. And welcome to GTU.
Un-plugged is not the same as
never-was-plugged-in-to-begin-with.

Thanks. It is a great tune for multi-situational caring (does that phrase make sense? Sounds like PC Nu-Speak kind of! Just made it up myself! laugh.gif ) "Sweet Baby James" (or "Secret O' Life," depending on my mood!) is probably my favorite JT tune.

Can't better any of the replies, but try out Ben Harper - When it's good...

I don't think you can go wrong with that one.

The clock of life is wound but once
And no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop at late or early hour
Now is the only time you own
Live, love, toil with a will
Place no faith in time
For the clock may soon be still
