Band: Deftones
Album: White Pony

Released: October 3, 2000

Band Members:
Chino Moreno - vocals, guitar
Stephen Carpenter - guitar
Chi Cheng - bass
Abe Cunningham - drums
Frank Delgado - turntables

This is without a doubt the best Deftones album. Catchy melodies, heavy guitar and deiversity. It's not perfect, but it's really close. Plus these guys don't really sound like anyone. Can you name a band that they sound like? Nor can I. I'd recommend Deftones to fans of nu metal or even rap metal. And this is the album to get if you don't own any. After this buy their self titled (skeleton cover) and Around the Fur. I didn't care for Adrenaline, but you might like it. Enough about their other stuff and on with the album. This version of their amazing cd has included the single "Back to School" so get this version of the cd. And now for my review of my favorite songs.

Back to School - Wasn't on the original release of White Pony and I'm happy it's on this one. Starts off soft then gets heavy. Rapping verse and a melodic chorus. 4.5/5

Digital Bath - Mostly a slow and mellow slow, with a nice melodic chorus. My 2nd favorite on the album. 5/5

Elite - Starts off loud and stays that way for most of the song. Nice song to rock out to. 4/5

RX Queen - The verses drag, but they lead to an amazing chorus. 4.5/5

Street Carp - The shortest song at 2:41 and one of the heaviest. My 3rd favorite. 5/5

Knife Prty - One of the better average songs on the album. Takes awhile for this song to start up, but it's good when it gets going. 4.5/5

Change - My favorite Deftones song of all time. I heard this somewhere on the internet and had to get the cd. Slow verses and such an inspiring chorus. 5/5

There is my review. Hopefully it changed your opinion about this album or made you want to get it. Remember to check out Around the Fur and the self titled if you liked this. Overall, this album gets a 9/10.

Thanks for fixing it. I wrote this review in 5 minutes out of boredom because I had nothing else to do. Hope you liked it.

I don't know Deftones much, but i can see you start to elaborate there's an intro and a track by track (even tho not all tracks) analysis....... it's the way to go IMO

Great album. Fans might also enjoy Chino Moreno's Team Sleep debut.
