Go for some Cat Stevens. Excellent acoustics in his songs. Try 'Wild World' or 'Where Do The Children Play?'.

If it doesn't matter if it's newer music or not, try some 3 Doors Down stuff or Green Day.

Jack Johnson is good. John Mayer is nice. and I'd suggest some Dave Matthews that was on the Some Devil CD, so you'd look under Matthews, Dave, no the Dave Matthews Band.

My two cents...wait...

What about working class hero-John Lennon. Got to be one of the best. Also the Doors stuff sounds quite good

Hey man, try a few of the simpler Foo Fighters tracks. Times Like These is on my soundclick (link below) so check that out and let me know what you think. Its pretty simple man so you should be able to nail it.

Jack Johnson is amazing as already mentioned and if you struggle to play some of his tracks, leave the picking stylee and just use the base chord with the odd pick. It still sounds great on many of his tracks!!!

Good luck!!!
