Ok well i saved up 470$ for a new acoustic/electric 6 string. I was looking at some takamine's(eg540)but i know there are other options. i saw some nice ibanez's on MF. What are some good sounding (plugged and unplugged) guitars that you would reccomend in my range.I have an ovation celebriy right now and i want something easier to play and no bowl.what would you buy? oh btw i play mainly rock based stuff so im thinking a solid spruce top.

Which Ibanez acoustics caught you're eye? Ibanez has some very nice acoustics in your price range. You could also check out some Washburn acoustics. Models like the D100 and such are pretty good and go for good prices.

first link isn't working for me but the second guitar lseems very nice, though i haven't tried either of those models before. i guess see if you can find those models and test them out to see what they sound like.

Ibanez has a couple of pretty nice ones in that range. Also, if you can find one, check out an Alvarez AJ-60. My son
bought me one for Fathers Day a couple of years ago. I have a number of fairly expensive guitars already, but I was
surprised by the Alvarez's quality and playability. He paid about $600, but you can find them for not much over $400.

...or with on-board electronics...

well i went to guitar center and didnt play anything i liked in my range. all of the actions were too high and i wanted something i could take home right then. i think i may be getting some gigs soon so i may save up for something close to 1000$. i thinkits worth it. what do you reccomend around this price range?

I can personally vouch for the excellence of Takamine guitars. Very versatile, and they sound wonderful when plugged in.
