kay acoustic Rate Topic: -----

i have this guitar thats a kay acoustic and it has a suspended bridge that has a whammy bar like sound when pushed down might be called a floating bridge does anyone know anything about it

i used to have one of those smile.gif but sometimes one of the strings used to slide off its place on the bridge, so then obviously didnt play right, but it was real old and crap, don't really play it anymore but was fine to learn on

Yes, it's a "floating bridge." The strings are held by a "trapeze tail-piece." A lot of guitars (generally archtops) have them. I wouldn't try too much whammy-type stuff with one or you can damage the top. Nothing wrong with them, maybe a little more trouble changing strings as you have to make sure they're correctly positioned to keep the intonation right.
Un-plugged is not the same as
never-was-plugged-in-to-begin-with.

thanks ive been at school all day its not my main guitar but i just wanted to know what it is. Thanks for the help
