I have a crappy ibanez guitar, a starter acoustic one, and the other day, i went with my friend to his guitar lesson and i got to play a 3 thousand dollar gibson custom shop guitar. now im trying to play mine and its weird. the gibson was like butter and it practically played itself. i was wondering if you can get an acoustic, that would play decent for about 200. i am on a very strict budget until next summer which i will be working 2 jobs and i could make several thousand whith which i am going to buy a really good guitar, probably a les paul, but i also need a new acoustic soon because this one i have is broken so if anyone knows of a decent acoustic you can buy for around 2-300 bucks please let me know.

That was my first acoustic guitar...I loved it (wish I hadn't sold it). Good price, good tone, playability isn't bad.
My recommendation though is to go to the guitar store play a bunch in your price range. Then go home and find how much it is on Musiciansfriend.com Sometimes (often in my experience) music stores will match the musiciansfriend price.

First, I know how you feel completely about playing a wonderfully made guitar, then jumping back onto a starter guitar. I play myself a 3.5k Walshburn acoustic about a month ago, and I'm still itching to play it again.
Second, there are a few websites you could always check out. I enjoy looking at all the guitar sites, and just taking looks at the different models, trying to find one that I enjoy looking at, not to mention has what I'm looking for. (ex. a cutaway, x amount of frets, shallow/mid/deep depth, etc.) Once you get that, if your music story carries that brand, they would normally be willing to order one.
Although ordering tends to take away from the advantage of getting to play it first. Like effect said, it's really best to play quite a few guitars first, and go from there.

I will always recommend Ovation. You have to try a few of the same model, but I have always enjoyed mine as a pleasure to play. Some people say that it sits awkwardly in the lap, and I would agree with that. But once you get used to it ....no prblem. They sound great for the price you pay, but experiment with strings as they respond far better to some than others.

Wait until you have the money, this way you buy the guitar you really want and wont regret buying the 200 dollar guitar when you have the money. But then again who am i kidding if you get the less expensive one you will buy the more expensive one later, since all guitarists have multiple guitars.
Good luck

I go along with the alvarez suggestion. I got an alvarez a year ago and cant get enough of it. zero regrets about it and everytime i see it i want to play it. Im not sure how low the prices on them go but i tried one that was around 250-300 while buying mine and it was very good for the price. You may also want to check out takamine they have some pretty nice guitars in that range.
