HI,
This is my first post, just joined. Anyway, I am having a guitar built by this guy Dan Ross in Indiana www.tannercreekguitars.com check out his site, its got pics of a few of his guitars. my guitar has a flamed redwood top, dark figured mahogany top and sides, and the headstock is burl redwood. The top, sides and back are all ready to be put together. The neck is almost done. I cant wait for it to be done. Hopefully another month or so and I can play it (I hope it sounds good)

Oh and if anyone has any ideas, I need to make a headstock design and 12th fret design and I dont know what to use. My initials etc.... (designers block)

Later,
Rob

Skulls, snakes, spiders, hearts, stars, anything you like. Initials are cool. Tommy Emmanuel has C.G.P., Certified Guitar Player.

I thought about my initials in some sort of artistic writing. Maybe inlaid using gold wire I have not seen too much wire inlay.

Well, considering I am a good friend of the guy that is building it. About 3 grand but I am working some of it off through him because I cant afford that much. However when the guitar is all done it will be the same as about a 5-6 thousand dollar guitar that he would build, because of the wood that I used ( one of the perks, he gave me all the wood). All the wood on the guitar is master grade wood that has been cut for a long time, and dried naturaly. Also, the nut, saddle, and pins are fossilized walrus ivory. So I think I am getting a good deal.

That's just like getting your wife's name tattooed on you. What happens if you split up. I wouldn't want an ex-wife's name on my guitar.

Congratulations. I'm having one made too, trying to combine all the things I like on several guitars I have into one. I've been on a luthier's waiting list for a couple of years now and I probably have less than one more to go. And welcome to GTU.
