Acoustic therough amp! amp sounds Rate Topic: -----

just a quick, and weird question....

Sometimes, my i can hear radio or television transmissions through my fender frontman g amp when i have my acpustic guitar plugged in.


epiphone acoustic
lawrence soundhole pickup


any possible reasons why?


i have an attic/musicroom on the 3rd floor of an old house

Maybe the cable you use to hook your guitar up to the amp is broken and might be picking up radio frequencies. Other problems could be the earthing of the pickup.

Try with another cable, try touching the pickup to see if there's a chance in interference, or maybe it's the amp... I don't know but maybe someone else can shed light on it.

It is a pretty regular thing, I pick up police and ambulance radios on my amp all of the time. I also tend to pick up cell phone conversations.

Go to someone who knows electronics...


The problem is in the cable...solving this will remove some of your unwanted buzz too...

Buzzing i get i usually find comes form my computer monitor, or lighting. But i can honestly say ive never had anything get picked up by my amp, mines a frontman too... thats wierd

Normally this means there is a problem with how it is earthed, take it anywhere that does electronics and they should help.

ha yesterday while practicing i heard a spanish speaking radio station through my amp. it was an epiphone amp (yes i know not the greatest) with a 16 gauge monster cable. i think its the cable pickin it up
