I am in love with this song, Classical Gas by Mason Williams, and i am just learning to play it. I just wanted to know a few more songs that have awesome picking and well... sound really good. I came to the realization that when playing songs from certain bands, most of the guitar is just strumming the same thing over and over. I assume that it wouldn't be very entertaining for the people listening to you, so that's why Classical Gas is so good, it's always exciting. so please, if you know any songs like this, (preferably easy) let me know

peace.

Have a look into Chet Atkins one of the picking master. I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for. It might sound easy, but it takes lots of practice to play that

"Embryonic Journey" by Jorma Kaukonan (recorded by both of his former bands Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna). It's probably no more difficult than "Classical Gas" but is an extremely dynamic and impressive piece to play. I much prefer it to "Classical Gas" myself. While the recordings were both done with him on acoustic guitar and Jack Casady on acoustic bass-guitar, it can be done perfectly, including every note, as an acoustic solo piece.

John Jackson -My Teacher and My Old Friend

Hi if you like Classical Gas, then try Chet Atkins version i think its better than Mason williams.
The Entertainer is allso a good one bye Chet but not as easy as classical gas.( well i dont think so anyway).
Mr sandman, Cavatina, Tears in heaven by eric clapton. Here comes the sun by Harry Sacksioni.

Not similar but you might like it.

Bron-Y-Aur - Led Zeppelin

A acoustic fingerpicking instrumental track. Great track imo. From Zeps "acoustic" album (III). Despite all the acoustic and the hate it gets I still like it.

Let the pretend take over
And that season be the first
Shadows we're in become us
So we set up interspersed
Between here and away
Become your space every day

Tommy is the master.

Try Tommy Emmanuel's "The Hunt".

Or, for what I personally hold to be among the best acoustic pieces ever (Though it's FREAKING HARD), try Trace Bundy's "Dueling Ninjas."
