there is no reason to close down a tab site. they are there to help people like me learn...and to allow people to tab, and post the tab on a site. not the artists work...its someone elses work (the tabs) being posted...since when was it illeagal to listen to a song and figure out how they play it and share it with others?
thats regodamndiculous.

It has always been illegal to share guitar tabs with others. Take a look at digital guitar tab and guitar tab books, and you will see they have permission to post or print guitar tabs. Royalties are paid to the artist, which is the way it should be. Not only are you stealing from the artist, but you are taking away business from legitimate guitar tab sites, like *Self-promotional link removed*.

Unbelievable! You remove what you call a self promotional link of a legal guitar tab site, yet you encourage stealing guitar tabs. Read this article March 10, 2006 removed self promotional link and suspended user.
I make my living promoting and selling guitar tabs through my websites, and illegal guitar tab sites take away a lot of potential business.
I would suggest to Keep GTU Online, that you follow the rules of the MPA, and keep everyone happy.

The rules of the MPA? I wasn't aware that the MPA had any right to tell me anything. Oh wait, that organization is only has a voice in AMERICAN publishing. Well, that's a relief. The MPA can go have sex with themsevlves for all I care.

yes how rediculous it is to offer help to beginning guitarists without making them pay for it. And for those that think "what about the artist?" trust me, they aren't missing much in income due to tabsites, major artists make more than enough money anyway, plus they get most of their income from touring anyway. And lets face it, if you want to have the tabs you need to have the music already, so you paid the artist for his music already and are not reproducing it for any financial gain, you are simply trying to enjoy his music in another way.
Lastly the music industry has been ripping you off for years now, it has been one of the consumer unfriendliest businesses around and have had illegal activities like price agreements for decades. So it is time to get your money back.
