Hey folks, as a guitarist i am not familiar with common bass line tunes that would be easy for a beginner. I got my brother a Squier Jazz Bass and amp for a Xmas gift cause he wants too learn. Anyway I know Money and Dazed and Confused are good bass tunes too learn for beginners. Does anyone have any suggestions on good bass tabs that I can get ahold of before all tabs are anahilated online

Try the all-time classic, Money by Pink Floyd.
Did you read his post?
Anyway, Black Dog's another good song for a beginner bassist. Ramble On and Californication are as well, but they're quite high, rather than in the normal bass range.

'bass line tunes that would be easy for a beginner'
um, hello?
money? rage against the machine? black dog?? (which does not even have a time signature)
classic bass lines, but surely not for someone who has just got their first bass. How are you going to explain 7\8 time (money) to a beginner?
Wild thing (troggs)
Tush (zz top)
Little green bag ( great for a beginner to get muscle built in their third finger as riff is all 1 tone apart.)
prob better for a beginner.
or first riff i learnt. end part of the Chain (fleetwood mac)
Cheers

I would say some easier stuff would be in the vein of U2, CCR, slow blues stuff. Then progress to some faster more technical stuff such as Sabbath, Zeppelin, etc.
Have him practice with a metronome all the time this will improve his timing which if you ask me is everything in Bass.

I also tried converting a little bit. Try some Sublime songs. Caress Me Down has a very simple bass line, and April 29,1992 is pretty easy as well. War Pigs by Black Sabbath is one that I think is easy enough to play for a beginner, at least if I can play it, I imagine other beginners could learn it too.
