Hmm... if one of you played mandolin, you could do Led Zeppelin's "Battle of Evermore." That would sound cool. You're gonna have to tell us what kind of music you listen to/play.

Anything with Damien Rice and Lisa Something-or-other is great.

Don't fool yourself, she was heartache from the moment that you met her.

Simon & Garfunkels 'Scarborough Fair' would be a good choice for you. Infact any Simon & Garfunkel song would be ok for you both, some Lennon and McCartney too. '74/75' by The Connells would sound good too. Bob Marley songs sound surprisingly nice with a female singing lead, try some, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

More than words can Say? I'm not sure if thats the title. But as I like remakes of old songs, why don't you try "Dream" by the Everly Bros.? Easy to play, and you can concentrate on the vocals. "Can't We Try" by Dan Hill is also good for Acoustic. Try songs where one sings lead, the other sings Chorus/Harmony. Switch around to see what works. Or Alternate verses. Try recording the guitar and then work on vocals during playback.

Excellent suggestion for a male/female vocal duet tune. I've done it with my daughter where one of us would take the first line, the other the second line and together on the third and the chorus section. Another great tune (but more difficult to find) is "The Bramble and the Rose" which is a traditional Appalachian tune. Jody Stecher and his wife Kate Brislin have an excellent version out they recorded together (and other great duet tunes). Here is a LINK to one of their CDs on Amazon where you can hear a breif clip of that tune and others by them.

Really there are lots of nice tunes out there, several by the Everly Brothers, and many others where male/female vocal duets (especially if done in harmony, alternately or a combination of both are used) sound great. The guitars become almost secondary in many cases.

Amen on the Everly tunes, I'd think those harmonys would lend themselves to male and female voices quite nicely.

Was it Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood that had a couple of good tunes together? "Some velvet morning when I'm straight, I'm gonna open up your gate."

I don't remember what that was, but I thought it was a goodun back in the day.

Yeah "Some Velvet Morning." Good tune.I remember their tune "Summer Wine" too. Which wasn't bad either.

Not sure if you will be familiar with the band or not but Blue Rodeo has a lot of stuff that might fit the bill. I'm thinking a song called "Is it you" would do nicely.

Forgot to mention that the tab for "Is it you" is on GTU with both guitar parts. Very handy.

Anything really.. I did 'Without or Without You' thats on my Soundclick with 2 guitar parts and two vocals part myself.. Just find a song your both comfortable playing and singing no point in one or both struggling with a vocal/guitar part halfway through... Start easy then you can get more intricate.
