Well, looking at guitars one more time, I finally decided on a guitar that looks like it's pretty decent quality for the price.

Martin 000-16GT

That's the guitar that I'm looking at now. I'm getting a job alot sooner than I thought, meaning I can start saving sooner, and probably get it before my senior year. I finally got the idea that if I ended up getting a standard acoustic guitar, then I could use whatever electronics I wanted based on what would work best for it. I've never cared much for pre-amps anyway.

I really think this is a nice guitar for the price. Could anyone possibly give their opinion and maybe throw out an idea or two for electronics. They've got a few electronics on their website I looked at a little, but I'm no expert on them.

personally, i think that's a great guitar....although, it'll be cheaper if you buy it outside of martin. like at a dealership or online.

Yeah, right after I saw this guitar I remembered seeing alot of Martin guitars in a shop recently, but couldn't recall whether it was here, or somewhere else. I looked it up, and sure enough, there was a shop about a five minute drive from my house.

if you tried playing and like it then why not...

maybe you could look around for second hand ones? good guitars matures nicely so you'll get a great guitar and you'd save some dollars too. i'd give anything to get my hand on a 1930s/40s Martin hehehee
