Hey. I have about 1000 to spend, and I'm planning to spend about 600-700 on an electroacoustic guitar, steel strings. My teacher told me to buy new strings of course, because as they come they have really thick strings.

Any good guitars that I should look out for?

I always liked my alvarez, its the one in my sig. Sounds good when plugged up, and when just recording. But the seagull is a great guitar too, im just not a big fan of acoustics w/ electronics anymore.

I have yet to purchase my dream Taylor, but I love the sound they make.

I'd say a 500 series maybe, affordable with a great sound and a beautiful instrument.

To be more accurate, I have 10,000 Mexican Pesos. It is about 10.50 pesos per dollar.

Alvarez makes a great guitar. Try out an RD8C (Base model guitar). Only 300 with hard case, gives you a beautiful sound, and you still have money left for an acoustic amp, or a bunch of burgers

I've got a crafter (see below) which has served me very well for 4 years now. My friends comment on how easy it is to play and I think it's fantastic. I've got 10 to 52 hybrids on it at the moment (Ernie Ball Earthwood Blues). It cost me about £250 (UK) four years ago, which I guess means it was about $400 then, so add inflation to that.

Takamine G Series is in your range.

I have a Guild F47MCE that is not made anymore but you can find some in the 900 to 1200 range with Fishman Prefix preamp.

Godin has a nice electric acoustic that is about 1000 bucks, there is a cheaper Seagull version of it, since Seagull is Godin's lower end guitar division but the Godin is better. Having played both you would definatly want the Godin A Series. It has that acoustic sound but is built like a electric guitar, only downside is that it is a tad heavy compared to other acoustics because they are fully hollow. You can get a nice high end Takamine for about 800 bucks easily with a Fishman pickup in em.
