A while back my dad gave me his 12 string acoustic, and i was lucky enough to fracture my left wrist in 3 places about 2 weeks after that. I recently started trying to pick it back up, but after about 10 minutes of playing I have to stop cause my wrist...

I was just wondering if anyone know of some songs that would be easy/fun to jam to, that wouldn't be to heavy on the wrist, anything on the slower side would probably be fine(I'd like to be playing Master of Puppets or something but things like that tend to starts hurting my wrist after a while and i have to stop).

You shouldn't choose songs by your wrist's reactions. If you continue to play, it will build strength and you will be able to play for however long you want.

I think if you just look at some of the versions of songs done in chord versions, you should be good. I'd just get down the timing of the chord changes with single strokes downward so that when your wrist gets better, you can pick up the rhythm.

the same thing happened to me, except it was fractured in one place only (you suck man! tongue.gif)

i say you should not play at all, if it's your left wrist.
because you could develop bad habits on hand/wrist positionning. if you're a beginner it's even worst, of course.

good day.

If you're in pain, stop playing. Aggrevating an injury is not a good idea and you can end up doing yourself long-term damage. Having to take a break from guitar playing (or any other activity that you enjoy doing) because of an injury is frustrating but sometimes it has to be done.

I recently tore cartilege in my left wrist (it turns out that old guys should stick to skiing and not try snow boarding) and was in a cast for 6+ weeks. I am starting slowing and trying to pick up where I left off. At first all barre chords were a bit painful. It is slow but my doctor said that it was good therapy. I stop when the pain is too severe and I have to take breaks to rest more often.
If the bones are healed, having pain shouldn't be a sign of anything other than being out of shape. If the pain is too sharp, you'd be better off asking you doctors than asking players.
Good luck

Don't play if it hurts. If you try to play the guitar you'll probably just end up hurting it again. I'd wait a few more weeks.

low and slow. take it easy. Your muscles are atrophied. It'll take a while to build it back up.

Use a grip ball and slowly build grip strength.
