I took a couple of old beater Ibanez guitars that I've had around the house, one a damaged 12 string, and the other a narrow necked acoustic that I never play any more...it was my first, but there's not any emotional attachments, to a music store in a nearby town to do a little trading a couple of weeks back.
I ordered a new Seagull 12 string, and got to pick it up, and bring it home yesterday. It's a model M-12 with a snazzy hard case, and it do sound nice.
I owe a guided fishing trip later on for the music store owner's grandfather. The fella has never been on the business end of a large catfish, he's about 90 years old, and I'm gonna do my best to see him catch some good ones.

I took an old man crappie fishin' about daylight this morning, and had to get him off the lake when it got hot, so we came to the house about 10:30 and sat out on the front porch on an old church pew I have out there to rest up a bit before we cleaned those fish we caught.
I took the 12 string out there and played him a few tunes, it was a hoot and he was singing along on Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down, and London Homesick Blues. He sure did like the sound of the 12 string, and when I got the six string out he said he liked the 12 much better.

For anyone who wants to hear what a 12 string sounds like, but can't afford it...There is a special pick which emulates the sound.
It's called the jellyfish pick (search amazon) it's around $15 and is kind of like a metal comb...I guess. It makes a cool sound and can certainly diversify your sound. It's quite a bit cheaper then a 12 string too!

I sounds akin to strumming your guitar with a 4x12. Don't waste your money.
