Are you sure you got the numbers right? It's not even shown on Takamine's discontinued archives.

It's not rare for manufacturers of many products (including I would guess guitars) to have certain models only available in their country of origin. This might be the case with your Tak if you bought it in Japan.

Ok, Ibanez are electric guitars but I'd assume Takamine are the same and John is right (as usual smile.gif ).

I know Ibanez make acoustics, but the J-custom line was a range of electrics. As far as I'm aware their acoustics have all been availible globally. The J-customs were only availible in Japan.

i played a few ibanexes ive never een before with ivy lookin stuff up the neck but the takamine played alot better so i bought it

I have never heard of a Takamine T-Series, so I reckon it's a regional thing for Japan.

If it beautiful, sounds excellent, and you like it, then congrats on the new addition. I have a NAshville series Tak and I LOVE it. My suggestion would be to send an email to customer service, and they should help. There are pretty good about getting back to you. I tried to locate a Nashville Series guitar in my area before I bought one, to check it out and there was not one in the whole state of Florida. Customer Service really tried to help me the best they could. They even got me in touch with the local rep. Good Luck.....
