Ok, here's the thing that's been going through my head. Most all the songs I've written recently, which I actually have an oppurunity to get onto a CD by the end of the summer if all goes well, all sound better at a slightly higher pitch that the Standard Tuning. I've been putting a capo on the 2nd fret and playing everything accordingly to the capo.

My question is, would it be bad to just tune my guitar up the full step as opposed to keeing the capo on there? I know that tuning a guitar higher can cause bowing of the neck and a million other things, but I'm curious if the full step would be too much. If it makes a difference I recently put Bluegrass strings on my guitar, about a week ago.

Seems a bit pointless to me, if you've got a good enough capo and you dont get lost having to play two frets higher then keep the capo there, tuning it up could cause neck problems and i think possibly shorten the life of your strings (correct me if I'm wrong).

I know its seems sort of pointless, but I'm going to end up playing these songs right down the line a couple of times throughout the next few days for a couple of people, and the capo tends to throw my hand off every now and then.

It's your guitar, but I wouldn't do that to any of my acoustics.

Two frets is pretty rough on the neck and strings.
Un-plugged is not the same as
never-was-plugged-in-to-begin-with.
