Hey folks, why not join MuSATO and give Rob a hand. Power with numbers!

All you have to do is amend your profile (My Controls > Edit Profile Information) to say that you join.

MuSATO, or Music Student And Teacher Organization, has been created to protect the rights that students and teachers have to use tablature as a learning resource. The MPA doesn’t want GZ.com to have tablature – but taking away our tabs is like telling a guitar teacher he can’t write out musical notation on a piece of paper for his student to learn (I don’t know about other teachers here, but when I teach lessons, I have blank tab pages that I write on for the students …. Surely that isn’t illegal, now is it?).

Let’s show the MPA that GZ.com (it’s weird calling it that, when I’m so used to GTU) is a place for students and teachers, basically – a place out of their jurisdiction. Let’s get our tabs back!

I support MuSATO, and think that we should be able to view tabs. But I have a couple of questions. By saying that I support MuSATO in their efforts, is that like a petition that will be given to the MPA in efforts to obtaining tab usage again? If that is true, is there a certain number of supporters that needs to be obtained? What efforts are being taken to obtain the usage of tablature? Will all major tablature distributor sites like GTU be eventually "shut down"? Is there anything further we can do, like call or write the MPA? What they are trying to is rediculous.

Now that I am done fuming... biggrin.gif

Thanks to all of the Mods and members who have made this such a good guitar site!!!!

I have been using guitartabs.cc to learn guitars ever since I was in school! Without tabs, I would never have been such a fan of great guitars, and would definitely not listened to satriani, steve vai, and so on. If there are a couple of million like me out there, then that accounts for a couple of million less albums sold! THe MPA is digging it's own grave! They need a lawsuit against them now!!

Hi

The links to Musato here and on MySpace seem to lead to a page with nothing on it? Is anyone else experiencing this? Also the link on guitarzone.com didn't work propely when I tried to confirm support. C'mon guys! If we want strength in numbers then we have to get these things right and monitor that they stay right!

Aside from that, any acoustic guitarists out there into fingerpicking guitarists like John Martyn, Nick Drake, Nic Jones etc should pay a visit to my blog at
