I have to stretch about 30 songs over 3 hours. I might start thinking of songs that arnt on the setlist if im short. I am playing a party in a marquee tent thing, should be good. this is the first gig I have done without any freinds or family being there so maybe this will be a turning point for me. wish me luck, ill let u kno whow it goes tonight.

Good luck!

I think you'll need a few more songs though! My average is 15 songs in 40 minutes....I dunno, maybe you have long songs.

thats pretty long 3 hours
Let the pretend take over
And that season be the first
Shadows we're in become us
So we set up interspersed
Between here and away
Become your space every day

Well the gig was a roaring success. Basically I got in and they hadnt told the birthday lady that I was playing so we had to keep it secret. I was sat at the top of this big white table while everyone was drinking champagne and enjoying themselves. The birthday lady asked who I was and her daughter said "oh, hes just here to give us a quote, just invited him to sit for a bit". so im there dreading the birthday lady asking me what the quote was for. Off I went to my little tent to set up my gear, did about 10 songs and then during my breaks, some kids came up and played violin, clarinet and some horn things. Also, this little kid was brilliant on the ocarina. Another 23 songs later I had run out of stuff to play. At the end to pass the time I handed my setlist around and got everyone to tick 10 of their fav. songs of the evening to play again so thats another 10 songs in the bag. I got paid, a bottle of wine and i met a first aid supplies co-ordinater who is basically a person who works in the first aid tents at festivals such as Glastonbury, Global..... she said I should come next year, get a free ticket and some good volunteer work down aswell. All in all, a wicked night, and such a good turning point as I dont need my family and freinds there as support (but it is still nice)
