I've got a pretty cool little acoustic riff I've been picking at for the last hour or so...it might not be all that original, but it sounds kind of cool. The pattern is pretty similar to Behind Blue Eyes and played about the same pace. Problem is, I can't figure out where to go next:

Em, G, D

-----------------------------------0~~---------------
--------------------------------3----3----0~~-------
-----------0----------0-----2----------2-------------
--------2----------0-----0~~------------------------
-----2----------2-------------------------------------
--0~~-------3---------------------------------------(repeat a few times...then looking for a change)

I'm thinking C sounds good, but can't figure out a arrangement for the change. Any suggestions?

Possibly like you said, to a C.

Em-G-D-C and then (resolving sort of) G-D-G
Un-plugged is not the same as
never-was-plugged-in-to-begin-with.

did you mean for the 2 and the three to be switched? like a more standard D chord shape? i like it better with them switched... after the open B string, play 2nd fret G string, then go into this

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
-------3p1------------------------------------3p1-----------------------------
-------------0------------------0--------------------0--------------0-------
----2------------------------0------------2---------------------0-------------
-3--------------------0h2-------------3------------------0h2------------------------
--------------------3----------------------------------3--------------------
