I really like playing a lot of Dave Matthews songs on the acoustic and really have grown fond of his rhythm style. Can anyone recommend someone with a similar sound? I don't wanna sound like a Dave jukebox.

John Mayer has some Dave-esque songs. I guess this can be attributed that Mayer was a fan of Dave Matthews when he was younger.
Jack Johnson is more rhythm than anything else. His songs rely heavily on some very nicely laid out rhythms that can do wonders for your playing in other areas.
Blues Traveler has some nice guitar in them too, not as much similar to Dave, but still very much fun to play.
And, of any artist out there, I definatly suggest checking out Cat Stevens. He, in my opinion, is a bit of a musical genius. I fell in love with his music very soon after I got into it.
Elliot Smith has a few songs that are fun to play as well.
I myself am a very big fan of Dave Matthews, and I've adapted some of his playing style into the way that I play my own songs. The artist I named above are just artists that I grew very fond of listening and playing too. I think you might like them, if anything at least one of them. But regardless of everything, each of them have their own unique style which is fun to play.

well... quite frankly, there is no other artist that sounds even remotely like Dave. that being said i can offer up some suggestions of acoustic based artists that are very percussive with many elements of groove in there.
as annoying_2001 mentioned, Tim Reynolds is a great place to start. an absolute freak of nature on the acoustic guitar. one of my personal favorites.
My best personal suggestion would be Keller Williams. this guy is an animal in terms of his rhythm on the acoustic. lots of quick hammer-ons and pull-offs and stuff. incredibly percussive with great emphasis on heavy grooves in his tunes. you should seriously check this guy out.
you may also want to check out bands like Rusted Root, Dispatch, Assembly of Dust and an artist by the name of Marcus Eaton (simmilar to Timmy Reynolds)
