well we seem to be suffering from a lack of new topics in this forum, i have no idea why considering the fact that the acoustic guitar is the finest instrument ever created biggrin.gif .

so anyway i thought i would ask a random question. i have started to listen to eric claptons unplugged album again lately and was just wondering whats everyones favourite unplugged song. i mean like "was played on an electric but was stripped down" kind of thing.

personally my favourite is probably one shared by many, eric claptons unplugged version of "layla"

Too many to name, but here goes a few:

Dave Matthews Band feat Tim Reynolds - #41
Counting Crows - Mr. Jones / Round Here / Mercury (Unplugged)
Incubus - I Miss you / A Certain Shade of Green (Acoustic)
Matchbox 20 - 3am (acoustic)
Black Crowes - She Talks to Angels (acoustic)

And many Joe Satriani acoustic songs, too numerous to mention smile.gif
Look out on a Summer's day, with eyes that know the darkness in my soul...

Alice in Chains unplugged is really very good.

Don't fool yourself, she was heartache from the moment that you met her.

To be honest, I've only seen a few unplugged sessions but my top 3 are probably:

Pearl Jam
Nirvana
Bon Jovi

nirvana unplugged in new york
Let the pretend take over
And that season be the first
Shadows we're in become us
So we set up interspersed
Between here and away
Become your space every day

I enjoyed his first album a bit more than his second, recent one, though. It's more lively. The second one is brilliant, but didn't live up to my expectations. I miss the sing-a-long songs.

Yeah, there are way too many to choose from, but since you mentioned Clapton's Unplugged album, I'm gonna say 'Running on Faith' from that album. Clapton's slide playing in that is brilliant.

Just about any Dave and Tim song that would be counted as unplugged would make it up there for my favorite.

The whole Clapton Unplugged album is easily one of the best records he ever made, there are so many great tunes on it and the songs are easily some of his best.
